A Brand New Adventure

I just launched my first Substack!

I’ve been lurking on Substack for a while – reading the work of people I know, and people I don’t. It’s a platform that I have really come to admire. For writers, it seems to provide everything needed to connect with an audience in an easy and cohesive way. For readers, it is a great consumer experience with no pressure to spend money. Anyway, I finally decided to take the plunge and launch my very own fortnightly Substack: Disorderly.

I spent a lot of time trying to come up with my Substack ‘brand.’ It needed to be something that was very identifiable as ‘me,’ while providing scope for getting random. I did not want to confine myself to a specific niche because, let’s face it, I’m scattered and curious and interested in all sorts of things, all the time. I wanted a place where I could write about whatever has just grabbed my attention and sent me down a rabbit hole.

And so we have Disorderly. The name relates to both my writing approach, and my personality. It relates to my natural inclination to reject the status quo and embrace chaos. Disorderly by name, disorderly by nature.
